DISCObedience – ST.IVES – Extinction Rebellion

Extinction Rebellion organised a mass disco in St Ives on the 1st of January 2020 in their latest bid to raise awareness about the environment.

The Extinction Rebellion group organised the mass disco around the town.

A flash mob of dancers was due to hit The Sloop at 2pm and then shimmy their way to to various locations in the town to perform the Bee Gees classic Stayin’ Alive.

St Ives resident Ann Nicol said: “Only system change at the level of government is going to enable our younger generations to stay alive and thats why we’ll be dancing to the Bee Gees’ Stayin’ Alive – an anthem of the growing Disco-bedience movement which is finding creative ways to educate people about the climate crisis and call for transformative government action.”
